Kate Crothers
Kate Crothers is a passionate community organizer, small business owner and mother of four. She resides in Picton, Ontario and for seven years, has been the owner and creative director of an interior and garden design firm. Kate is familiar with the hard work and determination required to see vision come to life.
Kate actively involved in her community. From soccer coach, to aiding in community efforts to build green spaces in the school environment and organizing movements to support underrepresented community members and building awareness to global injustice, Kate has spent countless hours connecting locally on issues facing families, business owners and other community members.
Kate was born and raised in nearby Campbellford, her father was a small business owner and mother a career teacher in the Hastings Prince Edward School Board. Kate’s first job was at the Quinte Mall, and she attended Loyalist college before pursuing her BA at Trent with a focus in Indigenous Studies.
Kate believes the NDP spirit lives large in the heart of Bay of Quinte. Her community has rallied for affordable housing, to support the vulnerable, for Palestine, to protect trans and LGBQ2I rights, and she is the candidate who will carry these values to federal office.
At these uncertain economic times, when the rich are getting richer and the average family is getting creative with meal planning to stretch their grocery dollar, cutting back on extra curriculars for their children and wondering if they’re going to be able to pay their rent or mortgage at the end of the month, the only way through is taking care of each other. If we work together as a region everyone will thrive. Kate is the candidate who will work for her constituents.
